Bayelsa United are in an increadible run of form and don’t seem ready to slip up just yet from the top of the Globacom Premier League table.
A barren draw at the Old Parade Ground, against Abuja FC on Sunday kept them yet with a tight grap at top.
Warri Wolves who have proven to be their hottest rival for the top spot this term , however, lost 2-1 to Zamfara United. The result meant that Bayelsa United extend their lead on the table, despite Sharks 2-1 win at home over Sunshine Stars.
Sharks are now tied on 35 points with Warri Wolves.
Rangers earned a valuable point in their trip to Makurdi against Lobi Stars.
The result worsened Lobi Stars campaign this term which is being decimated by poor results and internal wranglings.
The Coal City Flying Antelopes are gradually pushing their way to the top zone.
Heartland and Kano Pillars are on continental assignments as a result of which they stayed out of action in the domestic top flight for the second consecutive round of matches.
Pillars have 34 points with two games in hand while Heartland have 33points with same number of matches in hand. In the real picture it seems Pillars are the real title contenders. However, Bayelsa United has continued to prove pundits wrong with their outstanding run.
